Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly agreed to a super-max four-year, $285 million extension through the 2030-31 season on Tuesday. With the new deal, this season’s MVP, Finals MVP, and NBA champion will become the league’s highest-paid player per year, earning $71.25 million annually. Gilgeous-Alexander has two years and $79.1 million left on his current contract before the new extension kicks in.

Sony and Legendary’s live-action Street Fighter film has added David Dastmalchian to the cast to play M. Bison, the feature’s primary antagonist. This marks the actor’s biggest role to date, although he has also been featured in numerous superhero productions, including The Dark Knight, Ant-Man, and The Suicide Squad. He joins a star-studded cast that includes 50 Cent, Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns, Andrew Koji, and Callina Liang.

BTS is officially coming back, announcing on Tuesday that the group will release a new album in Spring 2026. This marks the first appearance since RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook all completed mandatory military service, confirming they’re working on the new music as soon as this month. Fans can also expect a tour from the K-pop group, its first since Permission to Dance on Stage in 2021-22.

The third and final season of Squid Game has been a ratings boom for Netflix thus far, recording 60.1 million views across all six episodes and shattering the streamer’s record for most views for a series in its first three days. Season 3 also tops the weekly charts in all 93 countries where Netflix reports a Top 10 ranking, marking the first time any program has achieved this milestone in its debut week. 

Dick’s Sporting Goods is extending its partnership with the WNBA until 2028, continuing as the league’s official sports goods retailer and marketing partner. In addition to a heavy presence on social and at games or events, Dick’s promises to stock WNBA apparel and equipment at more than 300 locations, including all 13 WNBA markets. The company will also become a partner of the Jr. WNBA, an initiative “dedicated to inspiring girls to play basketball in a positive and healthy way and to learn and grow beyond the game.”

Emmy-winning Welcome to Wrexham is expanding its universe with a new spinoff – Necaxa – which has officially set its premiere date. The program executive produced by Eva Longoria, Rob McElhenney, and Ryan Reynolds “sets out to reignite the soul of one of Mexico’s oldest and most storied football clubs, Club Necaxa.” The premiere is scheduled for Aug. 7 on FXX, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu and on Disney+ overseas.

Ahead of his home race, Sir Lewis Hamilton has unveiled a +44 “Silverstone” clothing collection that draws inspiration from the nostalgia of race day with streetwear silhouettes. Pieces include hoodies, tees, a varsity crew, a track jacket, and for the first time, products in honor of Roscoe, Hamilton’s beloved bulldog. The line will be available online on Wednesday and in person outside the Silverstone Circuit during the 2025 British Grand Prix, from July 3 to 6.

Lululemon is suing Costco Wholesale, accusing it of selling cheaper, unauthorized dupes of some of its popular apparel. The Vancouver-based company alleges that Costco’s in-house Kirkland brand and other brands it markets are offering imitations of items such as scuba hoodies, Define jackets, and ABC pants. As a result, Lululemon is seeking damages for lost profits and a pause to the sales of the questionable products.

Warner Music Group and Bain Capital confirmed they’ve entered a joint venture to purchase up to $1.2 billion of music catalogs. Both sides will collaborate to discover and acquire works in recorded music and music publishing, with Warner Music overseeing marketing and distribution. 

Sportico reported Tuesday that Haslam Sports Group has sold a 10% stake in the Columbus Crew to the Edwards family at a valuation of $900 million. Already a partner in the 2023 MLS Cup champs, the Edwards family now owns 30% of the franchise, with Haslam Sports Group managing the other 70%. Haslam Sports Group also owns the Cleveland Browns and holds a controlling interest in the Milwaukee Bucks.
