Fanatics announced Tuesday plans to hold its inaugural Fanatics Games as part of Fanatics Fest NYC from June 20-22. The competition, produced by Fanatics alongside OBB Media and Cheat Code Studios, will see 50 fans battling against 50 pro athletes, celebrities, and creators in a series of challenges with a $1 million prize for the winner. Confirmed athletes include Kevin Durant, Tom Brady, Jayden Daniels, C.J. Stroud, Jordan Chiles, and more. In addition to the first-place reward, there will be a second-place prize of a car and a third-place prize of a 2003 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor LeBron James trading card with an estimated value of $250,000.

Apple revealed the dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year, scheduled for June 9 to June 13 at the company’s Cupertino campus. The conference will be both in-person and virtual, with Apple introducing online group sessions this year. According to TechCrunch, Apple is expected to announce new changes to its operating systems, namely iOS 19, iPadOS 19, watchOS 12, macOS 16, and visionOS 3, as well as new Apple Intelligence features.

The opening weekend of the WNBA season proved to be a ratings boom for ESPN. The Indiana Fever’s 93-58 victory over the Chicago Sky Saturday afternoon recorded 2.7 million viewers on ABC, setting a record for the most-watched WNBA regular-season game across ESPN networks. The game peaked at 3.1 million viewers. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces’ trip to Barclays to take on reigning champions the New York Liberty drew 1.3 million viewers, peaking at 1.9 million. 

Authentic Brands Group has agreed to acquire Dockers from Levi Strauss in a purchase worth $311 million. The deal has the potential to ultimately reach up to $391 million via an $80 million performance-based earn-out opportunity. The deal will be completed in two waves: The sale of Dockers’ intellectual property and operations in the U.S. and Canada is likely to close around July 31, while the rest of the brand’s operations should be completed around Jan. 31. Retailers under the Authentic Brands Group portfolio include Reebok, Champions, Hunter, and Nautica.

Deadline exclusively revealed that Quentin Tarantino and journalist-author Jay Glennie are working together to write books for three of his films, starting with The Making of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood hitting shelves on Nov. 11. The next two will cover Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained and drop in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Camp Flog Gnaw is back, with Tyler, The Creator sharing that the festival will return to Dodger Stadium on Nov. 15 and 16. A lineup hasn’t been revealed, however, advance tickets go on sale starting May 22. Last year’s festival included performances by Playboi Carti, Kaytranada, ScHoolboy Q, Doechii, André 3000, and more.

Cameroonian basketball sensation Nkwain Kennedy and his desire to play pro basketball will be chronicled in a new documentary executive-produced by Sixers star Joel Embiid. Embiid’s Miniature Géant is working alongside Bark Bark and Deon Taylor‘s Hidden Empire Film Group, with Taylor directing the feature. An online star whose content showcasing his skills on the court has caught the attention of Embiid, Stephen Curry, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the project will chronicle Kennedy’s journey to the U.S. to train alongside current and former NBA players as he works toward a professional contract.

FKA Twigs is being targeted to star as American-born French dancer, singer, actor, and activist Josephine Baker in an upcoming biopic titled Cuties. While details such as title, additional casting, and release date have not yet been revealed, filmmaker Maimouna Doucouré has been tapped to direct, per Variety.
