In early 2024, Sony announced that Sam Mendes would be directing four movies about The Beatles, with each feature focusing on one band member’s point of view. On Monday, the entertainment company kicked off CinemaCon by revealing the cast and release date. Arriving in theaters in April 2028, the film has tapped Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), and Harris Dickinson (John Lennon) to portray The Beatles. All four films will drop at the same time in what Sony’s CEO Tom Rothman called “the first bingeable theatrical experience.”

WWD exclusively revealed that Cardi B is partnering with Revolve Group to develop her own beauty and apparel brands. The names of the lines have not yet been disclosed. Despite having previously worked with companies like Reebok and Nyx Professional Makeup, this marks Cardi B’s first endeavor as an owner rather than a collaborator. The first drop is expected later this year.

Football on Christmas is here to stay, with the NFL set to air three games on Christmas Day this upcoming season. Netflix will once again stream two games, while the third primetime content will go to Amazon as part of Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football package (the holiday falls on a Thursday). Last year’s two Christmas Day games on Netflix averaged more than 30 million viewers worldwide.

Mark your calendars: Sony confirmed Tuesday that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third and final feature in its animated Superhero series, will be released on June 4, 2027. Speaking at CinemaCon, producer Phil Lord promised the finale will be “massive.” Speaking of Spider-Man, Sony also revealed that the next installment of Peter Parker’s adventures starring Tom Holland in the titular role will be called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, premiering on July 31, 2026. 

Latin music reached a record-breaking $1.4 billion in revenue last year, marking an 18% jump from the genre’s previous peak in 2005 (when adjusted for inflation), per the RIAA‘s year-end report. It was also the third consecutive year that Latin music eclipsed $1 billion in profit, with superstars like Bad Bunny, Shakira, and Peso Pluma leading the way. Streaming remains the most lucrative for Latin music, making up 98% of the market’s profits in 2024.

Tennis legend Billie Jean King is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next Monday, making her the first female athlete with a star for sports entertainment. Hosting the day-of festivities will be radio personality Ellen K, while Jamie Lee Curtis and Magic Johnson will appear as guest speakers. This is just the latest recognition for King, who was also the first female athlete to be awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.

Uber and OpenTable announced a strategic global partnership to enhance the dining experience, pairing the two apps and their capabilities across the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, and Ireland. Both companies will work together to develop integrations in the coming months to provide dining reservation access, transportation options, and other membership benefits.

The Hot 97 Summer Jam 2025 will feature headlining performances by Gunna, GloRilla, and Ja Rule, with additional performances from A Boogie, Asake, Ayra Starr, Muni Long, and more. The show is scheduled for June 20 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

According to a Tuesday exclusive from Deadline, Turner Sports’ truTV and Max have obtained the rights to air Dreambreaker: A Pickleball Story. Described as “a humorous look into the serious business of our country’s fastest-growing sport,” the project chronicles the extreme methods two affluent entrepreneurs from Texas use to create rival pro pickleball leagues and feud over the world’s best athletes. The feature premieres on April 11 on truTV.

Paramount’s forthcoming comedy debut for Kendrick Lamar with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone has been delayed and will now premiere on March 20, 2026. The movie was originally scheduled to arrive on July 4 of this year. No direct reason was given for the postponement, however, it makes sense on a promotional front considering Lamar is about to go on tour with SZA, while Parker and Stone have separate South Park obligations.
