MLB’s biggest stars are bringing home the bacon in 2025. New York Mets summer signee Juan Soto and Los Angeles Dodgers dual-threat Shohei Ohtani will both earn nine-digit pay stubs this season while playing the nine-inning sport. Sportico lists Soto atop the league with an estimated $129 million in combined salary and endorsement earnings, with Ohtani sitting in second at $100 million. Black Snell, Aaron Judge, and Zack Wheeler round out the top five.

Now 20 years old, the streaming era is at an all-time high when it comes to money-making memberships. The RIAA 2024 year-end report cites that there are more than 100 million paid subscribers in the US alone, playing a pivotal part in an American music industry that sees $14.9 billion coming from the streaming space.

The new deal, which extends through 2029, places Ford at the forefront of Derby Week, where attendees will see a wide range of activations and product placement.

Netflix’s Quarterback docuseries is due back for a second season. The streaming service announced Wednesday that the follow-up will feature Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions signal-caller Jared Goff. In addition, Season 1 subject and Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins will return to the cast. Look for the second season to premiere in July, featuring footage from the 2024 NFL season.

DC native and Platinum-certified artist Wale is back at it. After a two-year break from rolling out new music, the revered rapper dropped “BLANCO” to streaming services on Wednesday. The single serves as the lead offering for his eighth studio album, set to release later this year under Def Jam.

Bobby Kim, better known as Bobby Hundreds as the former creative director for The Hundreds, already has a new gig following the recent closing of his famed Fairfax shop. The streetwear entrepreneur has been hired by Disney to serve as VP of Creative for Consumer Product in America. The new title will focus on conceptualizing everything from toys to t-shirts across the Disney commerce ecosystem.

Continuing to climb in U.S. earnings, vinyl records reached a massive $1.4 billion in sales across America in 2024. RIAA’s year-end report revealed much momentum from female pop heavyweights Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. Notably, hip-hop mainstays Tyler, the Creator and Travis Scott also saw physical sale success through vinyl last year.

Just how much will a three-foot model of E.T. cost you in 2025? Well, anywhere from $600,000 to $900,000 for the original from the 1982 film. This week, Sotheby’s will list the prized piece of film history on its auction block, coming straight from the set of the Steven Spielberg classic. Additionally, relics from Dune, Aliens, and other ‘80s sci-fi flicks will go live for bidding.

Seizing Southwest Airlines recently lost claim to fame, Frontier Airlines has announced free checked bags for summer travel. As CNBC notes, the budget carrier is responding to Southwest’s pivot by offering economy bundles for assigned seats and the option to carry a bag on without an additional charge.
