The Wall Street Journal exclusively reported Wednesday that ChatGPT developer OpenAI is expected to broadcast its first TV commercial during Sunday’s Super Bowl. This would be the company’s first attempt to enter the commercial advertising space, with millions tuning into the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Details about the commercial’s theme or if anyone will star in it haven’t been revealed, but this is a significant attempt to sell the benefits of artificial intelligence to a large audience at once.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson and Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams are taking their cannabis business and advocacy to film. Teaming up with National Lampoon, pre-roll brand Jeeter has cast the two football legends in a short film depicting a potluck centered around the big game. Look for the comedic short to launch on Jeeter’s YouTube channel this Sunday.

Stars hailing from Philadelphia and Kansas City aren’t the only ones with big money riding on the Big Game. As advertising prices for Super Bowl LIX reach $8 million for a 30-second ad spot, it will be Tinseltown’s elite cashing in on football’s commercial climax. From Charli XCX to David Beckham to Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Kris Jenner, the cost for A-list actors, athletes, and musicians in advertisements for the big game has reached as high as $3 million to $5 million paydays for top-tier stars, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

After early expectations that tickets to Super Bowl LIX would be the most expensive in the event’s storied history, the tide has changed. Earlier this week, Forbes reported that resale prices for tickets to Sunday’s game on the 50-yard-line dropped nearly 60% from the week before. That’s not to say ticket prices aren’t exorbitant, with prices on StubHub ranging from $2,607 to $21,123, and fans can expect a price surge as we get closer and closer to kickoff.

Miami Heat head honcho Pat Riley is back in the news — and it doesn’t have to do with Jimmy Butler. The Hall of Fame former head coach and esteemed NBA executive has reached an agreement with the NFL, allowing the Kansas City Chiefs to license the term “Three-Peat” on apparel if the Patrick Mahomes-led franchise wins its third championship in a row. Famously, Riley filed a trademark for “Three-Peat” in 1988 after leading the Los Angeles Lakers to back-to-back titles. Riley currently owns six trademarks tied to the phrase.
