The Weeknd is Hitting the Road with Playboi Carti for Stadium Tour
The Weeknd is hitting the road in support of Hurry Up Tomorrow, his sixth studio album that dropped Friday. Joining the superstar for most shows on the new leg of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour is his “Timeless” collaborator Playboi Carti. Producer Mike Dean is also set to appear as a special guest. The jaunt begins May 9 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, making stops in Las Vegas, Nashville, Miami, and The Weeknd’s home country of Canada before wrapping up Sept. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Creative Director Kim Jones Leaves Dior Men
After seven years at the helm of Dior Men, Creative Director Kim Jones is leaving his post. In a statement, Jones called it “a true honor to have been able to create my collections within the house of Dior, a symbol of absolute excellence.” As for his future, the designer did not indicate his next steps. However, WWD writes several European luxury brands, including Versace, Burberry, and Armani, are possible landing spots for the Englishman.

With just a few days until one of music’s biggest night, The Recording Academy shared its list of presenters for the 67th Grammy Awards. Among the A-list roster are past Grammy winners Cardi B, SZA, Will Smith, and Taylor Swift. Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gloria Estefan, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah, and Victoria Monét are also confirmed. Apple Earnings Beat Expectations Despite iPhone Sales Dip
Apple posted its latest quarterly earnings results, with the tech powerhouse recording a revenue of $124.3 billion for Q1 2025 following the holiday season, a 4% increase year over year. iPhone sales — Apple’s largest source of revenue — hauled in $69.1 billion, a slight decrease from the $69.7 billion made a year ago. The company also saw an 11% decline in China sales from the previous year, which CEO Tim Cook chalked up to a change in “channel inventory.” Meanwhile, Mac and iPad sales both saw 15% growth, with revenue rising to $8.98 billion and $8.08 billion, respectively.
Grant Hill, Jared Goff Join Expansion Bid to Bring WNBA Back to Detroit
Just one day after a celebrity-filled cohort submitted a bid to bring a WNBA team to Nashville, a separate group is making its claim as to why the W deserves to return to Detroit. On Friday, a group led by Pistons owner Tom Gores with support from Lions principal owner Sheila Ford, Pistons Hall of Famer Grant Hill, Lions QB Jared Goff, and more. Detroit was previously home to a WNBA franchise in the Shock, winning three championships from 1998 to 2009. Other cities vying for the WNBA’s 16th team by submitting bids include Philadelphia, Houston, and Nashville.
Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, & More to Perform at ‘SNL’ Anniversary Concert
Saturday Night Live is bringing out all the stars for its three-hour, live-streamed concert on Feb. 14 to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary. With SNL alum and current Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon hosting, the all-star list of performers includes the Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Chris Martin, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, The Roots, and many others. NBC also said more performers will be announced as the date nears. SNL Creator Lorne Michaels and Mark Ronson will serve as executive producers.
Frank Ocean Gets Behind the Camera for Directorial Debut
While it’s not reported that we’ll get any new music from Frank Ocean soon, the singer is still keeping busy behind the camera. According to a Variety exclusive, Ocean, who last released an album when he dropped Blonde in 2016, is gearing up for his directorial debut in an untitled indie film that began filming in Mexico City earlier this month. Cast as the lead role is David Jonsson, who last appeared in 2024’s Alien: Romulus. No details on the plot or release date have been announced.
UNC Legend Roy Williams, Verizon Erase $10M in Debt Following Hurricane Helene
Retired North Carolina men’s basketball coach Roy Williams is partnering with Verizon to eliminate $10 million of debt for those affected by Hurricane Helene, which tore through western North Carolina in September 2024. Williams contacted families directly to share the good news. “These are challenging times, but I’ve seen the strength and resilience of this community,” said the Asheville native. The $10 million will go toward eliminating debt for 6,500 residents, Verizon said.
