A group led by Predators owner — and former governor of Tennessee — Bill Haslam and his wife have officially submitted a bid to bring a WNBA team to Nashville. Joining Haslam in his pursuit include a superstar list of backers like University of Tennessee alumni Candace Parker and Peyton Manning, as well as entertainers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Per the bid, the franchise would tip off in 2028 and be named the Tennessee Summitt in honor of the late legendary Volunteers women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt. In a letter sent to Predators season ticket holders, Haslam confirmed the bid and forecasted Music City’s excitement for the new franchise, saying it will “[continue] to elevate Nashville as a premier destination for athletics at every level, while serving as a beacon for young women.”

Louis Vuitton is officially on the grid after agreeing to a 10-year deal with Formula 1 to become an official league partner. The agreement also makes the luxury fashion line the title partner of the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025. Per the Thursday announcement, Louis Vuitton will have a prominent presence across key race locations worldwide. This includes trackside branding and its signature Trophy Trunks, which will be presented ahead of races and on the podium to celebrate race winners. The 2025 Formula 1 season begins on March 16 in Melbourne. 

The stars were out on Thursday morning in LA as Netflix unveiled its 2025 programming preview. Among the extensive series of announcements, the streaming giant offered a first look at its upcoming Eddie Murphy documentary, Eddie, which highlights the entertainer’s journey from SNL to Hollywood royalty. Additionally, it unveiled new images from some of the year’s most highly-anticipated titles, including Happy Gilmore 2 – which featured Adam Sandler alongside Bad Bunny – Knives Out 3and many more. Netflix also announced the release date for the upcoming third and final season of Squid Games as well as the return of popular shows Stranger Things and Wednesday.

Arch Manning is officially a part of team Red Bull, agreeing to an NIL deal with the energy drink brand. As he prepares to take over starting QB duties for the Texas Longhorns next season, the 19-year-old has been selective about which companies he chooses to work with while in college. “I’m focused on playing football. That’s what I love to do. That’s why I’m here. I’m not here to do NIL deals, but I do like to drink a Red Bull every now and then, that’s for sure,” Manning told Boardroom’s Shlomo Sprung. Manning’s current NIL valuation of $6.6 million is the highest of any college or high school athlete.

MLS has tapped Doechii to be the face of its ‘Game On’ campaign in celebration of the league’s 30th season. The 30-second spot features the Grammy-nominated rapper exhibiting match-day energy while key moments from seasons past flash across the screen. The video is available to watch now, but MLS says it will be played throughout the year on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, linear networks, and its digital channels.

The NWSL confirmed Thursday that it has awarded Denver a new women’s professional soccer team. According to numerous reports, the team’s addition, scheduled to kick off in the 2026 season, comes at a record $110 million expansion fee. The club’s name, crest, colors, and brand identity will be revealed later, but the league added that organizers are finalizing plans for a purpose-built stadium for professional women’s soccer and a dedicated performance facility for female players.

Olympic track icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is set to launch her own hair care line, AFIMI, announcing a weekend-long activation to celebrate its arrival. On Feb. 1-2, guests can try the extensive line infused with Caribbean botanicals at a Shopify pop-up shop in Soho. The three-time Olympic gold medalist called the launch of AFIMI — which means “It’s Mine” in Jamaican Patois — deeply personal. “It represents my roots, my identity, and the resilience that defines me. I’m proud to share this piece of Jamaica with the world, helping others feel confident and connected to their own beauty story,” said Fraser-Pryce.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is officially teaming up with sleep fitness company Eight Sleep as both an athlete ambassador and investor. Leclerc joins a roster of pros on Eight Sleep’s squad including Taylor Fritz (also an investor), Brock Purdy, Aaron Judge, Jimmy Butler, and more. Throughout the 2025 F1 season, Leclerc will use the Pod, which the brand says was designed to increase sleep time by up to one hour per night, and appear in Eight Sleep’s promotional ads.

After a successful stint on the road opening for Megan Thee Stallion last year, GloRilla is heading out on her own solo tour in 2025. Named after her debut album, The Glorious Tour will welcome Real Boston Richey and Queen Key as opening acts for the North American leg. Festivities begin March 5 in Oklahoma City and will make stops in Washington, DC, Atlanta, Boston, and others. Glo’s hometown of Memphis is listed as a stop, but no date has been revealed.
