Organizers for this year’s Governors Ball announced the all-star roster of performers on Tuesday, with Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hozier headlining the three-day affair. Scheduled to run from June 6-8 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York City, additional entertainers gracing the stage are T-Pain, Tyla, Mariah the Scientist, Key Glock, and more. Tickets go on sale Thursday at 11 a.m. ET following the ongoing pre-sale window.
DirecTV Dives Into Sports Streaming with New Package
DirecTV is catering to its sports audience with the launch of MySports, a streaming package offering access to live NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL games. The offering will include more than 40 channels, such as ESPN, Golf Channel, TBS, Fox Sports, TNT Sports, USA Network, and more, along with local ABC, Fox, and NBC stations at a later date. According to the Tuesday release, MySports is available initially in 24 metro areas, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Normally priced at $69.99 per month, customers who sign up for MySports before Feb. 28 are eligible to receive the bundle for $49.99 per month for the first three months.
Jamal Crawford Named NBC’s Newest NBA Game Analyst
As NBC and Peacock prepare to handle NBA coverage come October, the companies confirmed Tuesday that former NBA player Jamal Crawford is joining the network as a lead game analyst. Crawford played for nine teams over 20 years in the league, winning Sixth Man of the Year three times. “I grew up reenacting the game highlights that I watched on the network’s classic NBA coverage, so I’m truly honored to be a part of the new broadcast team that will bring the game to a different generation of fans,” Crawford said. Since retiring from professional basketball in 2022, Crawford has gained broadcasting experience at Turner Sports, NBA TV, and MSG Network.
Mac Miller’s ‘Balloonerism’ Short Film to Screen in Select Cities Ahead of Album Drop
Balloonerism, the posthumous album by Mac Miller dropping on Friday, will now be accompanied by a short film. Per Miller’s estate, Balloonerism: A Film Based On The Album By Mac Miller will first arrive via advance screening on Wednesday in the US, with the movie heading overseas on Thursday. Showings will be held in New York City and the late rapper’s hometown of Pittsburgh, as well as Berlin, Dublin, London, Toronto, Auckland, New Zealand, and Melbourne and Sydney in Australia. Passes are $5 with profits going toward the Mac Miller Fund, which supports “programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities.”

Beyoncé had previously teased making a highly anticipated announcement on Tuesday, but the global superstar decided to postpone the news due to the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area. In a note posted to Instagram, Beyoncé confirmed a $2.5 million donation made on behalf of the BeyGood Foundation to relief funds for residents in the Altadena and Pasadena area who lost their homes. She added in the caption that she will “continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” while urging her followers to “join our efforts in supporting those impacted” by visiting her foundation BeyGood’s website.
Social Media Users Flocking to Find TikTok Alternatives Ahead of Potential Ban
As the US Supreme Court continues to mull over potentially blocking access to TikTok, some users are taking a different route by downloading a nearly similar app ahead of Sunday’s potential shutdown. According to NBC, RedNote, referred to as “China’s TikTok,” became the top free-to-download app on the Apple Store, with TikTok’s sister app Lemon8 coming in second. Owned by Xingyin Information Technology, features on the RedNote platform include the ability to upload images and short-form videos, find community-building assets, shop, and more.
Shaun White’s Snow League Secures $15M Funding Round
The Snow League, the first pro winter sports league dedicated to snowboarding, announced Tuesday it secured $15 million in a recent funding round led by Left Lane Capital. The news comes ahead of the organization’s inaugural season scheduled for March 7-8 in Aspen. Founded by retired Olympian Shaun White, The Snow League features 36 athletes from nine countries competing across four events. Coverage will air on NBC and Peacock.
Preliminary NYFW Schedule Highlighted by Calvin Klein Return
We’re less than a month away from New York Fashion Week, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America has released the preliminary schedule for the annual event featuring over 54 runway shows and designer presentations. While designers such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger aren’t on the initial slate, one of the more anticipated events of this year’s event will be the return of Calvin Klein — under new Creative Director Veronica Leoni — after six-and-a-half years away from NYFW. Taking place at various locations throughout New York City, Fashion Week is scheduled for Feb. 6 through Feb. 11.
