Park City Ski Patrol, Vail Resorts Reach Agreement to End Workers’ Strike
Ski patrol at Park City Mountain leveraged the busiest time of the season to make their demands heard. Workers staged a strike that kicked off on Dec. 27 through the New Year. Paired with limited snowfall, the country’s biggest resort could only operate 50 of its 350 runs during the time that is usually the busiest part of the season. After nearly two weeks, workers have come to a resolution, with the resort’s ski patrol reaching a tentative agreement with Vail Resorts, the parent company of PCM. While the final terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the union had been arguing to raise the starting pay for ski patrol to $23/hour, up from $21/hour.
