Lewis Hamilton Tops Formula 1’s Most-Followed List on Instagram

Last Updated: December 11, 2023
From Hamilton to Leclerc and more, Boardroom has the most followed Formula 1 drivers on Instagram.

Though it has its downsides, social media has afforded us, as sports fans, unique access to our favorite athletes. Formula 1 has always had its place in the global sports conversation, but the recent popularity of Netflix‘s “Drive to Survive” has introduced auto-racing to a new legion of fans stateside. In just a few years, we went from one race in the U.S. to three, with the most recent being the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix last month.

As far as the drivers’ popularity, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton tops the most-followed list on Instagram with 35.5 million followers. His online presence remains pure entertainment, ranging from his top fashion moments to footage of him surfing and glimpses of his recovery. Hamilton nearly triples the number of followers of the next popular, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. The 26-year-old boasts 13.2 million fans on the app. In third place is the unstoppable Max Verstappen. The back-to-back-to-back champion has 11 million supporters tuning into his whereabouts. However, the Red Bull racer does top the list of highest-paid F1 drivers for 2023.

Below is a top-10 list of the most popular Formula 1 drivers on Instagram.
