New Yorkers can finally get in on mobile sports betting beginning Saturday morning, Jan. 8.
FanDuel is ready to roll in New York, starting Saturday, Jan. 8 at 9 a.m. ET.
That’s when New York finally has the green light to begin operating mobile sports betting, and FanDuel will join DraftKings, Caesars, and Rush Street Interactive (via BetRivers and SugarHouse) as part of the day one fun.
The FanDuel mobile sportsbook app is offering $100 in site credit when users sign up early for a FanDuel Sportsbook account. It remains the only sportsbook with same-day parlays, bad bet relief, 24/7 customer service, options for safe and responsible gambling, and a sports betting 101 guide for all the novices out there. This comes just in time for Week 18 of the NFL season and the subsequent playoffs, Monday’s College Football Playoff national championship game between Alabama and Georgia, and amid the NBA, NHL, and college basketball seasons. Fans will also have a chance to wager on upcoming top UFC and boxing events.
As the Wall Street Journal previously noted, sports betting is expected to generate nearly $500 million in tax revenue per year for New York, with a 51% tax rate that will become the highest rate in the nation among states with multiple licensed operators.
New York will become the 13th state in which FanDuel operates its sportsbook via iOS and Android, joining Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
So get those wagers ready. Because it’s finally betting time in the Empire State.
