Doja Cat Dares to Get Amplified With JBL

Fresh off winning her first Grammy Award, Doja Cat is expanding her reach. Meet the newest face of speaker and headphone leader JBL and its “Dare To” campaign.

Doja Cat may or may not still be retiring from music after she opens for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour this summer and fall. For now, though, we are still very much living on Planet Her.

And she’s bringing JBL into her orbit.

Announced Monday, Doja is the newest global brand ambassador for the audio company. It was teased when the 26-year-old rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer arrived on the red carpet for the 64th Grammy Awards while holding a JBL Clip 4 Speaker that complemented her stunning seafoam Versace gown:

And the day before…

Once inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday night, Doja landed her first award from the Recording Academy at the Grammys — topping the best pop duo/group performance category for “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA.

“I like to downplay a lot of shit,” Doja said while tearing up during her acceptance speech, after humorously scrambling to the stage from an ill-timed bathroom break. “But this, it’s a big deal.”

Doja’s partnership with JBL is also a big deal.

“I’m excited to be working with JBL,” Doja said in a statement. “From the start of the partnership, they have made it clear that they are here to support me and my ideas about their products. That is easy for me because I actually love their speakers and I carry them around with me wherever I go. I’d wear clothes made of JBL speakers if I could. I can’t wait for everyone to see all the cool things we’re doing, including something coming really soon for my biggest fans.”

Fans will first see Doja as the face of JBL’s forthcoming “Dare To” campaign and will headline JBL Fest this September, per Billboard.

The Doja Cat Digital Footprint

  • Spotify monthly listeners: 55.87 million
  • Instagram followers: 22.5 million
  • TikTok followers: 22.4 million
  • YouTube subscribers: 10.3 million
  • Twitter followers: 5 million

It’s the latest in a mounting list of brands who want a piece of the chart-topping hitmaker with five singles slotted in the top 10 of the since 2020.

Last fall, Doja recreated Grease‘s “You’re the One That I Want” for this Pepsi spot — perfectly nostalgic with a pinch of spice from one of music’s most modern stars.

Doja continued her show-stopping ways in this Taco Bell ad spot during February’s Super Bowl LVI, and then cooked up a hilarious “contractual” Taco Bell Mexican Pizza jingle on TikTok last month.

Later this month, Doja Cat will take the Coachella stage in Indio, California. TMZ broke the news Monday that Kanye West will no longer be performing his scheduled headlining set; rumors are swirling that Doja is a natural replacement.

Altogether, the demand for more Doja couldn’t be higher.

Pretty soon, she really will need her own planet.
