The Phillies star opens up about his journey from teenage phenom to MLB icon, his decade-long cleat line, and life in Philadelphia in Under Armour’s King of Diamonds series.
Bryce Harper is no stranger to the spotlight. Ever since he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated at the age of 16 with the title “Baseball’s Chosen One,” the pressure to perform has always been on him.
How has he handled that? Oh, he only became the NL Rookie of the Year, an eight-time All-Star, a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a two-time NL MVP. Additionally, he’s one of the rare baseball players to have developed a long-standing signature cleat line, wearing the latest iteration — the Under Armour Harper 10 — this season, including a special “King of Diamonds” pair that he wore for MLB All-Star Weekend.
It’s only fitting then that Harper is the latest subject for the King of Diamonds original series. In Episode 4, Harper shows off his culinary skills in the kitchen while talking with host Greydy Diaz about what it’s like to play in a city like Philadelphia, his longstanding partnership with Under Armour and what it means to have a line that’s lasted this long, what it’ll take to lead the Phillies back to the World Series, and so much more.
“Everybody talks about best sports fan in the world, and other teams and other cities, and thinks like that. They are absolute diehard here [in Philly],” Harper said. “Blue collar mentality, working hard every day. Yeah, no excuses. You just gotta play hard, play well, and you better win.”

Be sure to catch this rare, behind-the-scenes look at one of baseball’s most iconic players — on and off the diamond — presented in partnership with Under Armour.
