Another day, another sports card record has been broken, after a pair of PSA 10 Michael Jordan Rookie Cards sold for $738,000 each on January 30th.
Sold by Goldin Auctions, the two 1986 Fleer Jordan Rookies more than tripled the last PSA 10 sale of $217,000 on January 3rd. The sale also comes just a week after shareholders of a Gem Mint Jordan RC through Collectable voted to turn down a $265,000 offer.
1986-87 Fleer Basketball had notoriously bad centering, making PSA 10’s incredibly difficult to find. According to PSA, only 316 of the more than 18,000 Jordan RC submissions to PSA have earned a grade of Gem Mint 10.
ESPN’s “The Last Dance” documentary gave Jordan’s RC a boost last April and the card has been running ever since. Could the 1986 Fleer Jordan Rookie be the next card to break seven-figures?
