Boardroom x SBJ Feature: Jessica Robertson On What She’s Bingeing

In this week’s Boardroom and Sports Business Journal collaboration, Jessica Robertson talks about her journey to become the chief content officer of TOGETHXR, a sports and media lifestyle company for female athletes that recently launched.

“I knew I wanted to be a storyteller,” Robertson says. “I wanted to tell the stories of the artists that were creating.” She did just that, first as a writer at Rolling Stone and then at places such as AOL, MTV and The Fader. Even as she worked in music, sports kept calling. In 2014 she saw a piece that Michael Carter-Williams did for The Players’ Tribune on the idea that his Philadelphia 76ers team was tanking, which led her to jump to sports entirely. She soon joined The Players’ Tribune, becoming head of content and staying for five years.
