Willy Chavarria’s All-Star Capsule With Adidas Fuses Hoops Heritage and Equestrian Edge

Adidas and Chavarria unveil a bold NBA All-Star Weekend capsule, highlighted by a special-edition Harden Vol. 10 and a Compton Cowboys collaboration that blends basketball performance with bold Western-inspired style.

NBA All-Star Weekend is the perfect backdrop for major sportswear brands to showcase the latest sneaker silhouettes, unveil bespoke collections, and directly connect the best athletes in pro basketball to their millions of fans and storytellers alike. The moment continues a mutually beneficial run for Adidas and Willy Chavarria, because weeks after dropping the Chavarria Megaride AG in late January, the two sides have unveiled a new capsule in honor of this week’s festivities.

Inspired by Chavarria’s upbringing in California, the line celebrates LA’s vibrant culture, particularly its fashion, music, and food. The highlight of the weekend is the new product launch, but, of course, there will be unique fan activations and community-focused events running from Thursday through Sunday.

“The next generation of basketball lives at the intersection of culture and performance. NBA All-Star Weekend is the ultimate expression of that energy,” said Max Staiger, Global General Manager of Adidas Basketball. “In Los Angeles, we’re bringing the vision of adidas Basketball to life – immersing fans in the culture that defines the game and our journey to be the brand for the next generation.”

A major element of the drop is a collaboration with the Compton Cowboys, which reimagines the limits (or lack thereof) of what happens when you merge equestrian and streetwear aesthetics. With a goal of uniting “sport, culture, and community” under one narrative, the full range boasts lightly tailored slacks, sleeveless tees, and matching sets that arrive in oversized jackets and bottoms that mark the return of gauchos.

Regarding footwear, the collection is headlined by a special edition of the Harden Vol. 10, the beloved signature silhouette of Cleveland Cavalier and Los Angeles native James Harden. While we don’t have any more intel on specific colorways at the moment, the idea of styling a traditional basketball sneaker with equestrian motifs is yet another testament to Chavarria’s ever-fearless, unapologetic approach to reshaping the language of fashion on his own terms.

The Adidas x Willy Chavarria All-Star Weekend collection drops globally on Friday via the CONFIRMED App and online at Adidas.
