Eminem Battles Peter Parker in “Spider-Man” Cover

Eminem is heading back to battle. This time, the Detroit rapper’s opponent comes in the form of Peter Parker. Eminem revealed that he has been characterized for a variant cover of The Amazing Spider-Man comic book. He posted the artwork on his Instagram, captioning the photo with a bar: “Like Spider-Man crawlin’ upside of a wall.“ Fans will be able to buy the collectible on Eminem’s website.

Bob Iger Secures $27M Annual Payday with Disney Takeover

How much money would make you come out of retirement? Bob Iger returned to Disney on Monday, having left the Mouse House in 2020. Following his reinstatement, reports emerged that highlight what may have motivated Iger to resume his position. For the two-year tenure, Iger will take home a $1 million paycheck and $1 million bonus, plus an extended package worth up to an additional $25 million. Prior to taking the position, Iger was allegedly in conversations with RedBird Capital for a potentially lucrative position. 

Ali Krieger & Ashlyn Harris Want You to Know "The Most Important Thing"

Ashlyn Harris announced her formal retirement from professional soccer last week, but she’s already filling up her time. NJ/NY Gotham FC unveiled a new position for the former USWNT goalkeeper. Harris will serve as the team’s global creative advisor. In addition, she and her wife, Gotham star Ali Krieger, will host a 10-part series, The Most Important Thing, in partnership with DraftKings and Meadowlark Media. The show launches on November 22 and will stream on YouTube and across podcast platforms. The two will offer an unfiltered view of a wide range of topics related to women’s soccer.

Lil Durk’s “Grand Theft Auto” Server Shut Down by Rockstar Games

Lil Durk has had a massive year. To top off highly regarded musical releases, he launched a wildly popular Grand Theft Auto server that offered gamers access to exclusive content and prizes. However, his efforts were shut down by Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to crack down on the “misuse of Rockstar trademarks and IP, real-world brands, characters, and music.” Lil Durk partnered with Trenches for the server, which acknowledged the legal action and shut down the server as the platform undergoes review.

Mattress Mack Bets on Houston Basketball with NIL Deal

Mattress Mack made history earlier this month when he banked a $75 million bet with the AstrosWorld Series win. The Houston-based furniture dealer went all-in on his hometown baseball team and was rewarded handsomely. Now, he’s venturing into the NIL space. Mattress Mack announced a new deal in partnership with No. 2 Houston’s LinkingCoogs NIL collective. Details of the deal are unknown at this time. 

Iggy Azalea Fetches Eight Figures for Catalog

Iggy Azalea burst onto the scene by telling everyone how fancy she was. Years later, the Australian entertainer has sold her entire catalog for eight figures to Domain Capital. While Azalea sacrificed the rights to her recording, the deal includes a caveat that entitles her to a portion of future sales royalties. To this point, Azalea had operated as an independent artist, publishing music through her own label, Bad Dreams

Belgium Faces Resistance from FIFA for “Love” Patch

Just hours after a number of European team captains conceded to pressure from FIFA and opted out of wearing “OneLove” armbands, the global governing body stopped Belgium’s efforts to make a statement of support. The Belgian national team away jersey’s featured a “Love” patch on the neck of their jerseys. However, FIFA demanded that the team remove the marker of support for human rights. FIFPRO, the global players’ union, released a statement, saying:  “Players must have a right to express their support for human rights on and off the field of play and we will support any of them who will use their own platforms to do so.”
