NBA stars Kelly Oubre Jr, Devin Booker, and PJ Tucker join host Jay Williams to discuss the world of NBA fashion, from what goes into creating a “league fit” to the economics of the business and how the fashion and sports industries look to one another for inspiration. Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker shares some of his style secrets, including using Women’s Fashion Week as inspiration. Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker talks about what it means for sports culture that NBA players have become “walking billboards” for the fashion industry. Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. lends insight into how the places he’s lived have inspired his own personal style, and gifts Booker one of his legendary chains.
The group also gets into the history of NBA fashion and how things began to change after David Stern instituted a dress code for all players and Allen Iverson showcased his subversive brand of style in response. All three players answer one of the most controversial questions in the league today: Stylist, or no stylist?
