The Nets superstar’s new Nike shoe is the first since the KD7 to feature a strap.
On the heels of a masterful return to the NBA court, Kevin Durant had another comeback in the works that promises to deliver a jolt to basketball fans and sneakerheads alike. Today marks the announcement of the Nike KD14 — and for the first time since 2014, the 11-time All-Star’s signature shoe is outfitted with a midfoot strap.
It’s a team-up years in the making.

The KD14’s one-piece strap was inspired by the Nike Air Presto, which debuted in 2000 and immediately fascinated with its stretchable V-notch design that enabled a fit that may or may not have been magic (hence the name).
But that’s not the only feature that’s got KD buzzing about his new sneaker.
“It’s been a while since we incorporated the strap, which excites me,” Durant said. “My other favorite part about the shoe is the cushioning, which helps me feel low to the ground and still helps give me some of that energy back.”
Like the Nike Air Presto, a mesh upper design allows printed graphics to be digitally layered, opening the door for truly one-of-a-kind colorways. The Swoosh will turn heads, too — compared to the KD13, the KD14’s Swoosh is slimmer. Rangier.
Much like Durant himself.
At launch, the Nike KD14 will offer two colorways, Black & White and Cyber. The Black & White will be available internationally on April 10th and North America on April 14th, while the Cyber colorway arrives as a Greater China exclusive on April 11th.
