Beginning in 2022, VOCAL will include podcast and audio projects covering sports, pop culture, lifestyle, and beyond.
Quality Ventures, LLC and The Network Advisory (TNA) are partnering to launch VOCAL, a multi-platform podcast and audio streaming network that will cover music, sports, fashion, and culture, both parties announced Thursday. Multiple VOCAL podcasts are slated to launch in early 2022.
VOCAL was established to give both companies’ client roster an in-house distribution channel for future scripted and unscripted podcasts that they will produce. The platform will also expand outside of their rosters to work with other personalities. The idea behind VOCAL is that by bringing to bear the combination of Quality Control’s knowledge of culture and The Network Advisory’s marketing and branding acumen, the new platform will successfully reach an underserved population of podcast listeners.
VOCAL’s podcasting services will include pre-production, creative development, advertising sales, sponsorships, subscriptions, merchandise development and live touring.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed as of this time.
Quality Ventures, LLC is the private equity investment arm of media industry group QC Media Holdings. QC Media holdings is the parent company of QC Sports, Quality Films, Solid Foundation Management, and QC Music, the company behind artists such as Migos, Lil Yachty, and Lil Baby. The company was founded in 2013 by CEO Kevin “Coach K” Lee and COO Pierre “Pee” Thomas. The co-founders appointed Brian Sher as the president of Quality Films.
“With the tremendous growth of podcasting listenership, this was a clear next step for us, and we are thrilled to be collaborating with like-minded partners,” said Lee in an official statement.
The Network Advisory (TNA), founded by CEO Justin J. Giangrande is a talent, brand, and venture syndicate. The company’s talent roster includes Michael Vick, Nicki Minaj, Alvin Kamara, India Love. Their overall client list includes artists, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs, influencers, and gamers, and the company calls Los Angeles, Nashville, and Miami home.
“Having worked in the film, television, and music mediums over the last 20 years, producing content on the biggest platforms, we recognize that podcasting is the organic next space to be in,” said Justin Giangrande in a release. Giangrande was previously the executive vice president of VaynerSports. “Quality Control’s phenomenal track record of working with the greatest creators in the world like Migos, City Girls, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and others made them an ideal partner for us.”
Before the launch of VOCAL, both companies had mutual clients. Rappers Lil Yachty, Quavo, and Lil Baby are all clients of both Quality Control LLC and The Network Advisory.
“Although the podcasting space is vast, with VOCAL we aim to fill a void in this arena by building a network that really gives the listeners authenticity when it comes to top talent and culture,” said Sher in a release. “With the rise of podcasts, it’s natural that brands will want to find a way to integrate with this type of content and, with our pool of talent, we are excited to provide this space for both under one umbrella.”
