The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will host its 40th annual induction ceremony on Nov. 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a lineup of presenters and performers like Elton John, Doja Cat, Missy Elliott, and Maxwell. This year’s honorees will include Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, and more, with the event streaming live on Disney+ and airing as a primetime special on ABC on Jan. 1. Meanwhile, a special exhibit showcasing iconic artifacts from the inductees opens to the public on Oct. 31.

Game 1 of the WNBA Finals between the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury recorded 1.9 million viewers, ESPN shared on Wednesday, making it the most-watched Game 1 since the league’s debut in 1997. Viewership was up 62% from last year’s opener, peaking at 2.5 million. Only the 1997 championship game, a winner-take-all matchup, posted higher numbers.

Starting in December, Amazon is launching prescription vending machines at its One Medical clinics in Los Angeles. Operated by Amazon Pharmacy, the kiosks allow patients to pick up medications such as antibiotics or inhalers immediately after appointments. Prescriptions are ordered through the Amazon app and typically ready within minutes. While controlled substances and refrigerated meds aren’t included, patients can view prices, apply discounts, and consult pharmacists via phone or video. More locations are expected to follow soon.

Mary J. Blige is bringing her sold-out tour to the big screen with her first concert film, Mary J. Blige: For My Fans, Live From Madison Square Garden. Filmed in April during her hometown stop, the movie will screen exclusively in theaters on Nov. 5 and 8. Tickets are available now.

Celebrated designer Salehe Bembury has unveiled the first standalone sneaker under his new brand, Spunge. The debut model, the Osmosis, features his proprietary Squish Tech cushioning, foam encased in a stability cage with visible “domes” at the heel inspired by squeeze toys. Four colorways will kick off the launch, and a raffle for all pairs is currently open on the brand’s website. Launch events will follow in cities like London, NYC, and Atlanta ahead of a global release on Nov. 15. The sneakers retail for $150.

Questlove’s upcoming documentary on Earth, Wind & Fire is set to premiere on HBO in 2026, offering an in-depth look at the iconic band’s legacy, cultural influence, and groundbreaking music. Featuring rare archival footage, audio, and written material, it’s the latest project on the group since 2001’s Shining Stars: The Official Story of Earth, Wind & Fire. Produced by RadicalMedia, Two One Five Entertainment, and others, the film is backed by a team that includes Questlove, Dave Sirulnick, and Cheo Hodari Coker.

For the first time in La Liga history, an official match will be played outside Spain, when Villarreal CF faces FC Barcelona on Dec. 20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. This historic game, which emphasizes the league’s push to grow its international fan base, will be broadcast in English and Spanish on ESPN. Ticket pre-sales begin Oct. 21, while general sales open Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. ET.

Adrian Wojnarowski is returning to media with a new YouTube series, The Program with Woj, created to support St. Bonaventure men’s basketball NIL program. While not a return to his insider role, the show will feature weekly interviews with prominent leaders in sports, capitalizing on Woj’s deep industry connections. 

Amelia Dimoldenberg is teaming up with Formula 1 for a new weekly YouTube series called Passenger Princess, launching Oct. 15. Following the success of Chicken Shop Date, the four-part weekly show will feature Dimoldenberg learning to drive with F1 stars George Russell, Ollie Bearman, Oscar Piastri, and Carlos Sainz as her instructors. Filmed at the Belgian Grand Prix, the series is produced by her studio Dimz Inc. in partnership with F1.

Stanford alumnus and philanthropist Bradford M. Freeman has donated $50 million to support the school’s football program. A former player who attended Stanford on a football scholarship, Freeman’s gift will enhance NIL initiatives and fund five new scholarships for student-athletes. Freeman is known for becoming the first in the nation to endow a head coaching position in 1988.
