15.38M Tuned into the US vs England, Breaks Men's Soccer Viewership Record

The United States Men’s National Soccer Team posted a gutsy match against England on Friday. As the team played to a 0-0 tie, it brought in 15.38 million viewers to Fox. The game eclipsed the past record for a men’s soccer match, previously held by the Brazil and Italy World Cup final in 1994. The USMNT takes on Iran on Tuesday in a must-win game in order to advance.

Consumers Spent $9.12B Online in Black Friday Sales

It’s been a difficult year for retailers and consumers alike, as the effects of the recession continue to take hold. However, the upcoming holidays offered a momentary reprieve. Adobe estimates that consumers spent $9.12 billion on Black Friday sales, up 2.3% year-over-year from 2021. For perspective, the average day yields $2-3 billion in online sales. Further analysis shows a sharp increase in layaway-style programs, which allow consumers an extended period to pay for their purchases. Although the numbers are impressive, the peak of the online holiday shopping season comes on Cyber Monday, and the same report estimates a 5.1% year-over-year increase to $11.2 billion.

Ohio State Loss Shakes up AP Poll, USC Jumps to No. 4

It’s been a long time – a LONG time – since Michigan beat Ohio State on its own home turf. Try November 18, 2000. At that time, CJ Stroud hadn’t even been born yet. Since then, Tom Brady has racked up seven Super Bowl rings. The Wolverines beat the Buckeyes by a definitive 45-23 margin on Saturday. DC Studios to Transcend Platform, Blend Games, Movies, and Television

James Gunn is settling into his new position as co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios by shaking things up. Gunn confirmed to fans on Twitter that the studio plans to make its games, television programs, and movies interconnected. The comments confirmed an earlier message from Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who indicated that such a move was possible in the near future.

Giants and Cowboys Match-up Draws 42M, Sets New NFL Record

Turns out that everyone was, in fact, ready for some football on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys’ time-honored tradition brought in a record-setting 42 million viewers, as Dallas took down the Giants 28-20. The game took over the top slot as the most-watched game in NFL history. The Giants were part of the previous record, which was 41.6 million for its 1990 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
