Ray-Ban announced Friday that A$AP Rocky has been named the eyewear brand’s first-ever creative director. According to the company, the rapper will extend beyond collection curation to “store design, campaign direction and more.” A$AP Rocky’s inaugural project, the Blacked Out Collection, launches in April and will see the father of two handle everything from flexing his design chops to directing promotional campaigns.

ESPN and MLB have “mutually agreed to terminate their agreement after the 2025 season,” per a memo from league commissioner Rob Manfred obtained by The Athletic. Manfred says MLB arrived at this decision because they’ve grown frustrated with ESPN’s lack of baseball coverage outside of its live broadcast. The collaboration was previously contracted through the 2028 season. 

Dawn Staley shared Friday that her first book is arriving this spring. Called Uncommon Favor: Basketball, North Philly, My Mother and the Life Lessons I Learned from All Three, the memoir chronicles the South Carolina women’s basketball coach’s upbringing in North Philadelphia, playing basketball at the University of Virginia, and her myriad successes on and off the court.

Energy drink brand Celsius is acquiring rival company Alani Nu in a deal worth $1.8 billion in both cash and stock. Celsius reported fourth-quarter earnings of $332.2 million, a 4% slump year over year.

For the first time ever, Amazon has exceeded Walmart in profits. Walmart tallied $180.5 billion in sales during the most recent quarter while Amazon recorded $187.8 billion. However, current forecasts project that Walmart will earn $708.7 billion in the 2025 fiscal year, while Amazon’s revenue is expected to reach $700.8 billion.
