NBA 2K27 is bringing three different eras of basketball together on its covers: Victor Wembanyama headlines the standard edition, Caitlin Clark becomes the first WNBA player to receive her own global cover on the deluxe edition, and Derrick Rose gets a limited-time ultra edition celebrating his career. The game launches Sept. 4, with Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners receiving early access beginning Aug. 28. The first gameplay trailer will arrive on July 28.

The NFL’s financial dominance continues to widen. League-wide national revenue reached roughly $14.5 billion for the 2025 season, giving each of the 32 teams more than $450 million before shared ticket revenue. That payout alone surpasses the combined league distributions received by teams in the NBA, NHL, and MLB. With media rights deals potentially being renegotiated before 2029, the NFL’s annual team payout could top $800 million by 2035.

AMD is deepening its push to challenge Nvidia in the AI infrastructure race with a partnership that could see the chipmaker invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic. In return, Anthropic will deploy two gigawatts of AMD’s next-generation Instinct MI450 GPUs in Helios rack systems, beginning with the first gigawatt in 2027. Glen Powell is set to star as Yankees legend Lou Gehrig in a new Universal biopic, reuniting with director Richard Linklater after Hit Man and Everybody Wants Some!!. Written by Simon Rich and produced by Lorne Michaels, the film will chronicle the life of one of baseball’s most iconic figures, whose career ended after his ALS diagnosis. Production timing has not yet been announced.

The Kansas City Chiefs have unveiled the first renderings of their planned $3 billion domed stadium, set to open for the 2031 NFL season. Designed by MANICA, the 70,000-seat venue will feature a translucent ETFE roof, Arrowhead-inspired design elements, enhanced fan amenities, and a focus on preserving the team’s legendary home-field atmosphere. The project, backed by public funding and a $1 billion commitment from the Hunt family, is expected to position Kansas City to host future Super Bowls and major events.

YouTube generated more than $11 billion in ad revenue during Q2 2026, up 13% year over year, as the platform benefited from major events like the World Cup. Benicio Del Toro is making his first leading comedy series role in Protective Custody, a new Apple TV series from Mike Judge, Ben Stiller, Steve Hely, and Dave King. The show follows a disgraced financier navigating life in protective custody while awaiting trial. Stiller will star alongside Del Toro, and also executive produce the series, reuniting with the Oscar winner after Escape at Dannemora.

Adidas is expanding its Originals line into women’s training with Originals Sport, a new collection designed to merge performance technology with lifestyle-driven style. Inspired by the brand’s iconic Superstar tracksuit, the range includes bras, leggings, tanks, onesies and layering pieces featuring modern takes on classic Trefoil and three-stripe details. Tesla missed Wall Street earnings expectations in Q2 despite beating revenue estimates, sending shares lower in after-hours trading. Apple is preparing to launch Apple Upgrade, a new subscription-style leasing program that could reshape how customers buy its devices. Backed by Klarna, the service is expected to cover most iPhones, Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches, offering lower monthly payments and the option to upgrade, pay off, or return devices at the end of the lease. The program is reportedly set to launch July 28 in the U.S.

Loewe has named rising British actor David Jonsson its latest brand ambassador, marking one of the first major talent moves under creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Jonsson, who earned acclaim for Alien: Romulus and Rye Lane, joins the luxury house as it charts a new creative direction. His upcoming projects include A24’s The Chaperones and Frank Ocean’s feature directorial debut.
