A new docuseries chronicling the decades-long career of Diana Taurasi is coming to Amazon‘s Prime Video, according to Variety. Titled Taurasi, the three-part program will feature interviews from the three-time WNBA champion’s loved ones, teammates, coaches, journalists, and others who have played a key role in her success. Taurasi announced her retirement from professional basketball in late February.

Capitalizing on the immense success of Wicked, Sphere Entertainment announced Friday that an immersive version of the Oscar-winning film The Wizard of Oz will arrive at the venue on Aug. 28. Promising to maintain the 1939 film’s original integrity, producers will use cutting-edge technologies to complement the feature’s visuals. The Sphere will add another movie, From the Edge, next year.

Model and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber is exploring a potential sale of her skin and makeup company Rhode, per Reuters. Conversations are still in the early stages, but JPMorgan Chase and Moelis are reportedly helping the model identify a buyer. Should Bieber decide to proceed with the sale, the deal could be worth over $1 billion. 

Zeb Powell made history this week, becoming the first snowboarder to sign with Jordan Brand. Powell, the first Black snowboarder to win gold in X Games history, is also a native of North Carolina, the same state where Michael Jordan grew up and played college basketball. 

Elena Delle Donne is officially retiring from basketball and the WNBA, calling it “the right thing for me at the right time” in a Friday Instagram post. Drafted second overall by the Chicago Sky in 2013, Delle Donne racked up two league MVP awards and seven All-Star appearances while leading the Washington Mystics to a championship in 2019. She was also named to the The W25, the WNBA‘s 25th-anniversary team in 2021. 

For the first time ever, CBS will broadcast the MTV Video Music Awards scheduled for Sept. 7 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. A host, nominees, and performers will be announced at a later date. The awards show will still air simultaneously on MTV while also streaming on Paramount+.

Ahead of an opening weekend that some are forecasting to rake in as much as $90 million, A Minecraft Movie picked up $10.55 million in Thursday previews. Starring Jack Black, Jason Mamoa, Jennifer Coolidge, and Danielle Brooks, this amount now marks the all-time preview record for a video game adaptation, besting Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Something new is coming from Justin Bieber, but it’s not music. The pop superstar recently teased what appears to be an apparel, footwear, and accessories brand called SKYLRK in an AI-powered video on his Instagram. This comes after he’s been sharing colorful selections with SKYLRK branding throughout the week. On Friday, Bieber followed up with a call for fans to DM him if they play ball, showing images of potential SKYLRK jerseys.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that the United States economy added a better-than-expected 228,000 jobs in March, although unemployment slightly ticked up to 4.2%. Jobs in health care experienced the most growth, adding 54,000 new employees and keeping it consistent with the 12-month average of 52,000. Meanwhile, the average hourly earnings rose 0.3%, with the annual rate of 3.8% at its lowest since July 2024.

To commemorate 100 years of Italian luxury, Fendi is releasing its own stamp. The emblem is a reiteration of the Fendi Roma logo in the house’s signature yellow color placed on a backdrop with the FF logo created by Karl Lagerfeld in 1965. The No. 1, infinity symbol, “ITALIA” wording, and the tariff indication “B 50 G” complete the look. It’s available to purchase for €2.90 ($3.18) for one or €130.50 ($143.04) for a sheet.
