Stephen Curry and former FLOTUS Michelle Obama are launching a new sports beverage they say will “change the game when it comes to nutrition.” Called PLEZi Hydration, the drink arrives in three flavors – tropical punch, lemon lime, and orange mango twist – and will be sold nationwide for $2.29 a bottle online and in stores across California. According to data obtained by CNN, sports drinks are estimated to skyrocket into a $32.6 billion market in the United States by 2028.
Chris Hemsworth & Anthony Mackie Among Familiar Faces in Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel announced the official cast for the upcoming feature, Avengers: Doomsday. Returning faces include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Newcomers to the Avengers army include Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Letitia Wright as Black Panther‘s Shuri, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
Lady Gaga to Hit the Road on ‘Mayhem Ball’ Tour
Due to the “incredible response to the new album,” Lady Gaga shared her plans to embark on a global tour this year. The Mayhem Ball begins July 16 with a pair of shows in Las Vegas, with additional performances across North America and Europe, stopping in New York City, Chicago, London, and Milan. The arena tour concludes with a trio of performances in Paris in November.
LeBron James Taps Steve Nash as New Co-Host, Inks Amazon Deal
LeBron James confirmed Wednesday that Season 2 of his podcast Mind the Game will premiere on April 1 with basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash as his new co-host. Nash is replacing JJ Redick, who now coaches LeBron and the Lakers after hosting the initial season alongside him last year. Additionally, James agreed to a multi-year distribution deal with Amazon.
Zendaya, Barry Jenkins Team Up for A24’s Ronnie Spector Biopic
A biopic on Ronnie Spector is in the works, with Deadline reporting that Zendaya will play the late singer and Oscar-winning Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins will direct. Produced by A24, the feature is based on Spector’s 1990 memoir, Be My Baby, and will focus on the Ronettes singer’s life with troubled music producer Phil Spector. Before her 2022 passing, Spector had personally chosen Zendaya to portray her.
NWSL Expansion Team Rebrands to Boston Legacy Football Club
The NWSL’s Boston team officially announced its new name on Wednesday: Boston Legacy Football Club. The rebranding comes just five months after the latest franchise announced the BOS Nation name, which was met with widespread criticism. The name was chosen because it reflects “a city that carries its own decades of sporting legacy, while the club aspires to create its own new legacy that is true to the city, true to the fan, and true to the sport.”
MrBeast to Headline YouTube’s Annual Upfront Event
YouTube is planning an event during the TV industry’s upfront week in New York City, and it announced Wednesday who will be making a special appearance. Confirmed attendees for the May 14 event at the Lincoln Center include MrBeast, Brittany Broski, and Lady Gaga, who will also perform during the presentation. Nielsen shared Tuesday that YouTube was the No. 1 media distributor for February, ahead of heavy hitters like Disney and Netflix.

Rivian Launches Micromobility Business Behind $105M Funding Round
Rivian is spinning out its “micromobility” business into a new company called Also, securing $105 million in funding from venture capital firm Eclipse to focus on lightweight EVs. Rivian did not disclose specific product details. Micromobility, a sector led by big names such as Bird and Lime, is classified as small, low-speed vehicles intended for personal use, such as e-bikes and three- and four-wheel products like micro-cars.
FIFA Reveals Prize Payouts for Club World Cup Total $1B
Winners of this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup will earn up to $125 million, FIFA confirmed Wednesday. The total prize purse is $1 billion, half of which will be divided between all 32 clubs, with the amount per club based on sporting and commercial criteria. Group stage participants will earn $2 million per win and $1 million per draw. That amount slowly increases until the championship in July at MetLife Stadium, where the winners will pocket a share of the $40 million prize pool.
