Lewis Hamilton Graces Cover of EA Sports ‘F1 25’
Motorsport great Lewis Hamilton was unveiled as the cover star for the EA Sports F1 25 Iconic Edition on Monday. It’s the Ferrari driver’s first solo cover for the franchise, but he has appeared in some way or fashion alongside other drivers 10 times since the launch of F1 2015. The trailer and release date for the video game will be revealed soon.
Loewe Taps Proenza Schouler Duo for Creative Control
A week after Jonathan Anderson left his post as creative director of Loewe, the LVMH-owned fashion house revealed Monday that his successors will be Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the powerhouse duo behind New York-based label Proenza Schouler. It’s LVMH’s latest creative counter to last year’s dip in sales, with reports circulating that Anderson could be bound for a new position under the company umbrella at Dior. In their new roles, McCollough and Hernandez will helm “the entire creative responsibility of all Loewe collections across womenswear, menswear, leather goods and accessories.”
Silver Lake Takes Endeavor Private After Closing $25B Deal
Global sports and entertainment firm Endeavor has officially been taken private by Silver Lake Partners as part of a $25 billion deal confirmed Monday. Per the Monday announcement, Endeavor will operate under the WME Group name to encompass the many brands and businesses it represents. Additionally, Endeavor executives Mark Shapiro and Ari Emmanuel, who reportedly received a $174 million payout in the deal, will hold similar roles within WME Group.
Hyundai to Invest $21B in U.S.
South Korean automaker Hyundai will invest $21 billion in U.S. onshoring from 2025 until 2028, including building a $5.8 billion steel plant in Louisiana. The rest of the investment will be split between expanding automobile production and enhancing parts, logistics, and steel business to boost the localization of auto parts and strengthen supply chains. A top seller of electric vehicles in America, Hyundai will also expand its energy infrastructure, including EV charging capabilities.
Netflix Co-Funder Donates $50M to ‘AI and Humanity’ Initiative
Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings has donated $50 million to Bowdoin College, his alma mater, to develop a research initiative on “A.I. and Humanity.” A 1983 graduate, this gift is the largest to the Maine liberal arts institution since its founding in 1794. The endowment will be used to hire 10 new faculty members, support current staff looking to incorporate AI in their work, and fund conversations about the technology’s functions and challenges.
Miley Cyrus Unveils Upcoming Album Art, Name
Miley Cyrus unveiled the cover art and name of her nine studio album, Something Beautiful, to her 213 million Instagram followers on Monday. Set to release on May 30, the 13-track visual project was produced by Cyrus herself alongside Shawn Everett. Her last album, Endless Summer Vacation, dropped in March 2023, with its lead single, “Flowers,” earning Cyrus two Grammy Awards.
StubHub Rides 2024 Profits to IPO
StubHub filed for an initial public offering of its common stock at the end of last week. The S-1 document reveals the secondary ticketing platform recorded $1.77 billion in revenue, a 29% increase year-over-year from the $1.37 billion a year before. The company added that more than 40 million tickets were sold on StubHub’s marketplace last year from roughly 1 million sellers.
Lizzo to Play Rock ‘N’ Roll Pioneer for Amazon MGM Studios
Deadline exclusively revealed that Lizzo has been cast to portray the gospel artist who also attracted rock and R&B listeners, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, in a new project produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Titled Rosetta, the Grammy Award winner has been learning guitar in preparation for the role. The feature will chronicle pivotal moments in Tharpe’s life – from her genre-bending talents to navigating societal pressures to ultimately playing her first stadium show that also doubled as the late singer’s wedding to her manager, Russell Morrison.

In celebration of March Madness, Adidas unveiled a new film that views competition as a positive aspect of women’s basketball. Produced by Candace Parker, the project stars hoopers from Three Stripes’ elite roster of women’s basketball players such as Nneka Ogwumike, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Aaliyah Edwards, Aliyah Boston, and Satou Sabally. Expect to see the spot run throughout the rest of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ Becomes First Rap Album of 2025 to Sell 1M Units
Hypebeast reported that Kendrick Lamar’s sixth studio album, GNX, is officially the first rap album in 2025 to sell 1 million units. Although it was recently dethroned by Lady Gaga’s Mayhem for the top spot in the Billboard 200 albums chart, he and SZA’s “Luther” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a fifth consecutive week.
