Taylor Swift announced Monday she’s releasing two new projects on Disney+ related to her record-breaking Eras Tour. First up is The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries promising a behind-the-scenes look at the tour’s creation and impact, with the first two episodes premiering on Dec. 12. Also dropping that day is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a recording of her final tour performance in Vancouver, which includes songs from The Tortured Poets Department that weren’t in the original concert film.

The NBA launched a new streaming platform and revamped NBA TV on the NBA App on Monday, giving fans access to nonstop basketball content, live games, and original programming. The new flagship show, The Association, will air weeknights, covering basketball news and culture, and NBA TV will feature 60 regular-season games along with content from the WNBA, G League, Basketball Africa League, and more. Fans can also access top podcasts and creator-driven content in one place.

A live-action TV series based on Mattel’s Magic 8 Ball is in development from M. Night Shyamalan and Brad Falchuk. The show will be a psychological, supernatural drama that reimagines the toy as the center of a high-concept, character-driven story. Shyamalan will direct and co-showrun alongside Falchuk, who will also write.

Apple is rebranding its Apple TV+ streaming service to simply Apple TV, calling it a “vibrant new identity.” The change was quietly announced alongside the release date for the film F1, which arrives Dec. 12. The company recently raised its price by 30% to $12.99/month from $9.99/month and remains the only major streamer without an ad-supported tier.

Amazon plans to hire 250,000 workers for the 2025 holiday season across its U.S. fulfillment and transportation networks, matching the number hired in the past two years. Seasonal workers will earn an average of over $19 per hour, while full- and part-time roles start at $23 with benefits. The move follows Amazon’s recent $1 billion investment to raise pay and reduce healthcare costs for U.S. employees.

Wale confirmed Monday that his eighth studio album, Everything Is a Lot, is dropping on Nov. 14. The project marks his first full-length release under Def Jam, following a decade with Maybach Music Group. Wale previously scored multiple Billboard 200 top 10 albums, including No. 1 hits The Gifted and The Album About Nothing.

Over the weekend at New York Comic Con, it was announced that Mortal Kombat III is in development, ahead of Mortal Kombat II’s release on May 15 next year. Screenwriter Jeremy Slater will return for the third installment, though no plot details have been revealed. The 2021 Mortal Kombat film was a pandemic-era success, topping the box office and becoming HBO Max’s biggest film launch at the time.

Starting with the 2027-28 season, the UEFA Champions League will adopt a new format featuring a standalone Tuesday night opener hosted by the reigning champs. The rest of the opening matches will follow on Wednesday and Thursday to boost visibility for all clubs. The change was announced by UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and European Football Clubs, during its media rights tender for the 2027-33 cycle. It’s unclear if similar changes will apply to the women’s competition.

Tron: Ares fell short of its debut weekend expectations by generating just $33.5 million at the domestic box office. After picking up nearly $5 million in Thursday preview, the Disney sci-fi sequel starring Jared Leto and Evan Peters went into the weekend on pace to rack up anywhere from $40-50 million. The franchise’s last film — Tron: Legacy in 2015 — made $44 million domestically in its opening weekend, not adjusted for inflation.

Millie Bobby Brown will star in and executive produce Prism, a supernatural series in development at Netflix. She’ll play Cassie, a woman who can communicate with ghosts and must solve a global phenomenon causing apparitions to appear. The project is based on a short story from Assemble Artifacts and is being developed by Assemble Media with writer Nick Shafir. Rachel Brosnahan and AGBO will also executive produce.
